Usinas do Trabalho Program

The Usinas do Trabalho Program, created in 2007, is a consequence of assistance practices for income generation developed by Consulado da Mulher. The main objective of this initiative is to strengthen actions by partner institutions that already work at stimulating income generation in small enterprises throughout Brazil.

Using the same methodological principles of assistance as in the Mulher Empreendedora Program, and present in the four cities where Consulado da Mulher has teams, the Usinas do Trabalho Program also grants Consul household appliances to enterprises assisted by partner institutions so they can be used as means of production. These household appliances, mainly refrigerators, freezers and washing machines, represent a great incentive to begin and to expand production at small enterprises that would otherwise not have the means to make an initial investment big enough to maintain their activities.

Partnerships

In this distance work, Consulado da Mulher strengthens action by partner organizations, that also work with assistance to generate income, providing access to the Consulado’s methodological principles and monitoring the team of technical advisors. In this sense, the Usinas do Trabalho Program expands Consulado da Mulher’s actions throughout Brazil.
